About the Artist

Janet Morgan is a painter who got involved with belly dance through the SCA back in the mid 90’s and has been dancing ever since. She now has a small dance company called Durga, shown in the photo below with Tara (Maddy Jacobs), Dchanat (Janet) and Susanna (Susanna Plotnick). The group performed at the Lafayette Grill in New York City this year.  She teaches belly dance to cancer survivors at the Creative Center in New York.

Janet has painted a series of paintings on belly dance; from 22 x 30” to banners 8 x 8 feet at www.bellydanceart.com There you can find a set of twelve note cards of her work on sale.

She has also painted an entire pantheon of deities (now up to 170) at www.janetmorgan.net  and landscapes from around the world, from Antarctica to Kyrgyzstan at www.janetmorgan.net/sacredlandscape.html
